We’re over half-way through December, which means we are knee-deep in the holiday season!
I’m enjoying a cup of coffee looking at the 4 inches of snow that fell last night, and decided I could just share some photos of what’s going on here in my world in Colorado Springs.
Starting with our snowy hike on Thanksgiving morning with some friends:
Early in December it’s time for a couple holiday traditions here in Colorado Springs. The Cycling Santa Ride & Chasing Santa 5k, and the Festival of Lights parade. The Cycling Santa Ride rode to the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort for a waffle breakfast and then returned to the start.
The Festival of Lights Parade is a massive parade in downtown Colorado Springs. We have a few events that bring a lot of people downtown and this is one of them. We were fortunate to have great weather, too!
And now a few random photos from this past week… My sweet dog.
Below is the firetruck that came to put out a small fire that some kids started at the creek. I had to call them twice this week for people starting fires there. Fortunately, the CSFD came quickly both times to address it.
Here is a poster from the Mountain Lion Research Day, which is a poster session for UCCS students to showcase their research. I really enjoyed talking to the students and learning more about what they do. This project is related to a great local organization, Kids on Bikes.
And finally, last Friday we had our Closer to a Cure celebration for the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National MS Society. Our team, Team NEO, raised over $63,800 in 2019. If you want to join us or donate to us in 2020, visit our team page.
Now I’m off to finish a final paper for a class. 🙂 I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
