2020 Vision – Goals and Purpose

My 2020 Vision

It’s the first week of the new year and I’ve had some time to think about my direction for the year. I am taking a look at each facet of my life and set my main intentions for them. Below are some key areas of my life and some big picture goals. I start with my purpose, because my WHY is critical. The goals need to enhance my why.

(Note: these are big picture goals and as I plan, I will break these down into much smaller steps utilizing the SMART goal setting process for specific, measureable, achievable, realistic/relevant, and time-bound goals.)

  • Continue to provide excellent service and support to my athletes

  • Learn as much as I can through my coursework and related projects
  • Make professional industry connections
  • Get more connected in the community

Athletic

Purpose: to challenge myself and enjoy the outdoors

  • Successfully complete the Leadville Heavy Half Marathon
  • Ride my bike(s) a lot!
  • Get stronger

Personal health & wellness

Purpose: to allow me to achieve my other goals

  • Recover from surgery!
  • Eat home cooked meals with plenty of veggies almost every day
  • Have quiet/creative time to relax the mind
  • Maintain good sleep habits

Relationships

Purpose: to stay connected

  • Spend a little more time with the people important to me.

Team NEO Bike MS

Think about your 2020 Vision. What are the key areas in life you want to focus on and what is your purpose? With your why in mind you can then create your big picture vision as a template for your every day goals. Where will 2020 take you?
